About this project
We gutted the bathroom to the framing. The shower drain was moved to take a linear drain, and the shower floor is a traditional mud pack sloped to it, which is what lets the stone hex floor run straight into the shower with no curb, behind a single fixed glass panel.
The floor tile finishes flush with the existing hardwood in the hallway, so there's no step or transition strip at the door. The walls are finished to a Level 5 drywall finish, and the cabinets and built-in shelving were built by our crew.
We did the demo, framing, shower pan, tile, drywall, paint, and cabinets. The only work we brought someone in for was the final drain hookup and the electrical.
