Preston Homes is a licensed general contractor based in Lakeport. Our crew does its own framing, siding, windows, cabinets, and trim, and the owner runs every job in person.
How the crew is set up
Our own carpenters handle the framing, siding, windows, cabinets, and trim. Those are the trades that decide whether a house is square, tight, and finished clean, so we keep them in-house.
For plumbing, electrical, concrete, and the other specialty trades, we bring in subcontractors we know and manage them on site. You get one contractor responsible for the whole job.
How we price work
Most of our jobs are billed at cost plus a set fee. You pay what the labor and materials actually cost, plus our fee, which we agree on before we start. Every invoice comes with receipts and hours, and you'll get a budget estimate up front so you know where the job should land. If something changes, we talk about it before we spend the money.
Why we work this way: a fixed bid has to cover every surprise that might be behind a wall. Cost-plus means you only pay for the ones that are actually there. We still give fixed bids when the scope is clear and fully drawn; just ask.

We run the job on site and keep you updated as it moves.
Walk-through
We walk the finished work together and close out any punch list.

Hiring a licensed contractor protects you. You can verify our license with the Contractors State License Board any time.
